Before You Start — Key Things to Know
EXP, Drop and Gold are all ×100 on Rappelz Tournament. What takes weeks on official servers takes hours here. Most players reach level 200 in 15–25 hours of active play.
The main questline is your fastest EXP source from levels 1 to 30 and again at 180–200. Don’t skip it — quests also reward gear upgrades at key level breakpoints.
Party EXP bonuses are significant in Rappelz — up to +10% per extra member. A full party in Vulcanus or Abyss levels 40% faster than solo. Ask in guild chat for party members.
Don’t waste rare taming cards on creatures you’ll replace in 10 levels. Focus on leveling first and build your pet setup seriously after reaching your Master Class at level 50.
Level 1–30 — Tutorial and Starting Zone
Start by completing every quest in the tutorial chain in Horizon. These quests teach core mechanics and reward starter gear at several key points. On ×100 rates you will hit level 30 in roughly 30–45 minutes by following quests alone.
- Complete the full tutorial NPC quest chain first — introduces mechanics and gives starter pet
- At level 10 do your first job transfer — significant skill unlock
- Pick up every quest you see — at ×100 rates even grey quests give useful EXP
- Do not invest in gear here — you’ll replace everything within 10 levels
- Use the Trainee’s Blessing buff from the Trainee Island graduation quest — +50% EXP for 2 hours
Level 30–50 — Lost Mines and Master Class
Grind Relics of Arid and Moonlight Lost Mines while continuing the main quest chain. At level 50 you complete your Master Class quest — one of the most important moments in Rappelz. Your character transforms into its final class form and unlocks all its most powerful skills.
- Complete Master Class quest at level 50 — mandatory, major power spike
- Tame your first proper pet — Wolf or Blue Pixie as a starting option
- Save rare taming cards — don’t waste them here
- Start looking for dungeon parties — party EXP bonus is significant from here onward
Level 50–80 — Hidden Village and Vulcanus
Hidden Village is the best EXP/hour zone for levels 50–80 when run with a party. Form a group with a tank, healer and DPS — clear all rooms, reset and repeat. Daily quests in the zone also give bonus EXP. Transition to Vulcanus floors 1–2 as you approach level 80.
- Hidden Village requires a Hidden Village Pass — obtainable from events or Cash Shop
- Party of 3–5 here gives significantly more EXP per hour than solo grinding
- Vulcanus floors 1–2 carry you from 80 to 100 — move there once Hidden Village mobs are grey
- Collect Lava Gear crafting materials in Vulcanus — sell what you don’t need for early gold
Level 80–100 — Vulcanus Dungeon
Vulcanus floors 3–4 are your home from level 80 to 100. Boss rush repeatedly with a party for maximum EXP. The Lava Gear Set drops from the boss floor and is the best gear for this level range. Koala and Snowman belt pets increase drop rates here significantly.
- Tame Koala and Snowman for the drop rate belt bonus before farming boss floor
- Party with a Cardinal or War Kahuna if possible — buff and heal support makes a large difference
- Your main goal in this range is reaching level 100 for the Reborn system unlock
- Floor 4 boss respawns on a fixed timer — coordinate with guild members
Level 100–140 — Crystal Dungeon
Crystal Dungeon unlocks at level 100 and is a significant step up in difficulty and EXP rewards. AoE classes like Void Mage and Mercenary shine here — their mass damage clears packs efficiently. Complete your first Reborn at level 105.
- A tank is strongly recommended — mobs can overwhelm unprotected DPS players
- Complete your first Reborn at level 105 — aim to reach Reborn 3 before leaving this range
- Aim for the main questline quests alongside dungeon farming — large EXP bonuses at 110, 120 and 130
- Crystal mobs reflect physical damage — physical DPS should bring reflection reduction potions
- Void Mage + Cardinal duo is so efficient here that some players skip the full party
Level 140–170 — Circus Dungeon
Circus Dungeon bridges the gap between Crystal Dungeon and Abyss. Status effects are the key mechanic shift here — mobs apply confuse, slow and fear more aggressively than any previous dungeon. Bring status cure potions — they are not optional.
- Bring 50+ status cure potions per session — floor 3 applies constant debuffs
- At level 160 upgrade to Dragon Armor (Red or Blue Dragon sets) — significant power jump
- Dragon weapon unlock at level 160 is your priority gear target in this range
- Continue Reborn cycling through this range — aim to reach Reborn 5 by level 170
- Dragon Armor set from Circus boss floor is best in slot from level 160 until entering Abyss
Level 170–200 — Abyss Normal
Abyss Normal floors 3 and 4 have the highest EXP per hour of any zone in the game. Rare Ranked gear starts dropping here — the first tier that scales with Reborn rank bonuses. This is where serious progression begins.
- Always party in Abyss — Templar and Cardinal are essential from floor 3 onward
- Prioritise the main questline between levels 185–200 — guaranteed large EXP at 185, 190 and 200
- At level 200 the Reborn system fully unlocks — this is where your real endgame progression begins
- Abyss Normal boss drops Rare Ranked gear — your first meaningful endgame equipment tier
Level 200+ — Abyss Hard Mode and Endgame
Level 200+ is all about Reborn cycling and gear progression rather than raw leveling. With ×100 rates re-leveling after each Reborn takes 3–6 hours depending on rank. Epic and Legendary Ranked gear drops exclusively in Abyss Hard Mode.
- Abyss Hard Mode floors 3–4 are the primary farming floors for Epic Ranked gear
- Floors 5–6 require Reborn 15+ and drop Legendary gear
- At Reborn 20+ the level cap raises further — Abyss Hard remains the primary zone
- Join a progression guild — organised Hard Mode runs are significantly faster than pugs

EXP Buffs — Stack Everything
EXP buffs in Rappelz multiply together — stacking them correctly can more than triple your effective EXP gain. For example: Trainee’s Blessing (×1.5) + Deva’s Blessing Scroll (×1.25) + Honey Bread (×1.1) + full party bonus (×1.5) = 3.09× total EXP. Always activate all available buffs before a farming session.
Daily Quests — Must-Do for Fast Leveling
Red Farm (level 100+) — Quick kill quests that give 20–30% of a level per day. Complete every day without fail from level 100 onward.
Island of Forgotten Gods Daily (level 170+) — Extremely high EXP, up to 50% of a level at 170–190. One of the fastest daily EXP sources in the game at this range.
Parallel World Daily (level 175+) — Bonus EXP for clearing the first wing. Combine with regular Abyss farming sessions for maximum daily output.
Double EXP Events — Rappelz Tournament runs double EXP weekends. Check Discord announcements and plan your heaviest leveling sessions around these events.
Best Pets for Leveling
Automatically picks up drops. Saves immense time during grinding sessions. Get this first before anything else.
Stage 3+ pet with AoE skills speeds up kills. Dragon or Yeti are solid early choices. Upgrades from Vulcanus onwards.
Pets like Fairy Queen give +INT or +STR, increasing your damage output. Good bridge while working toward a Stage 5+ combat pet.
If playing Master Breeder, your pet does most of the killing — invest exclusively in pet damage stats from the start.
Advanced Tip — Buff Account
Some veteran players use a second account with a high-level Cardinal or War Kahuna parked in the party for buffs. If your buffer is more than 20 levels above the mobs, they receive no EXP — but you still get full EXP. This lets you farm zones above your normal gear range significantly earlier.
