The Void Mage is the highest AoE damage class in Rappelz and the undisputed king of solo farming. This guide covers everything — stat build, skill priorities, best pets, gear progression and how to play Void Mage effectively on Rappelz Tournament Epic 9.6.
Class Overview
Void Mage is the Asura master class that specialises in devastating AoE magical damage. A fully geared Void Mage clears entire screens of monsters faster than any other class in the game. The tradeoff is fragility — Void Mage has low HP and defence and dies quickly if targeted. Mastering positioning and threat management is the difference between a good and great Void Mage.
Stat Build
- INT — Max priority. Every point increases magic damage and M.Atk scaling.
- WIS — Secondary. Increases MP pool and magical defence. Invest after INT is maximised.
- VIT — Minimal. Just enough to survive casual hits. Void Mage survives through positioning not HP.
- STR/DEX — Do not invest. These stats provide no benefit to Void Mage.
- INT — High priority but not all-in.
- WIS — Higher investment than pure build. Better MP recovery and magic resist.
- VIT — Moderate investment for survivability in PvP and harder dungeons.
- Recommended for newer Void Mage players learning the class.
Core Skills
Best Pets for Void Mage
Pixie (Magic variant) — Provides M.Atk bonus and magic cast speed reduction. The best in-formation pet for Void Mage at Stage 5+. Also provides party-wide magic attack buff.
Pixie for M.Atk scaling, Fairy for cast speed reduction, Koala for drop rate. Pixie and Fairy are the farming belt combo — Koala replaces Fairy if drop rate is priority.
Unicorn — Provides HP and MP regeneration between pulls. Useful while learning the class before your mana management is optimised. Replace with second Pixie at higher stages.
Farming Rotation
The Void Mage rotation is about maintaining maximum uptime on AoE skills while managing MP. The goal is to never stop casting — dead time between skills costs farming efficiency.
- Position in centre of mob pack
- Cast Void Field — drop the AoE DoT on the pack
- Cast Void Explosion — primary burst damage
- Cast Dark Wave — second burst damage while Void Explosion is on cooldown
- Use Soul Drain on a surviving target to recover MP
- Move to next pack — repeat
At high gear levels this rotation kills entire packs before Soul Drain is needed. At lower gear levels maintain Mana Shield and use Blink if overwhelmed.
Gear Priorities
Weapon first. Staff enhancement is the highest damage-per-gold investment for Void Mage. Push your staff to +9 minimum before investing in armour pieces.
INT soulstones in all slots. Socket every available slot with INT soulstones. The compound stat bonus from full INT socketing significantly outperforms mixed stat approaches.
Awakening on weapon and robe. Prioritise M.Atk awakening lines on your staff and INT lines on your robe. Even low-quality awakenings on these two slots improve farming speed measurably.
Void Mage Tips
Never stand still. Void Mage dies to physical mobs that reach you. Always be repositioning to the edge of a pack before casting. Pull mobs, let them cluster, cast from the edge and move before they close the gap.
Mana management is everything. Running out of MP mid-pull is the most common Void Mage mistake. Keep Soul Drain on cooldown and carry MP potions. At high INT levels your MP pool is large — learn the rhythm of your regen before skipping potions entirely.
In PvP target squishies first. Void Mage burst in PvP is devastating against healers and other mages. In Crystal Altar focus the enemy Cardinal first — removing their healer cripples their entire team’s survivability.
