Class Overview
Mercenary is the most beginner-friendly master class in Rappelz and consistently one of the strongest melee DPS options across all content. The straightforward AoE rotation, high natural HP and the iconic Immortality survival skill make Mercenary the recommended starting class for new players who want to deal damage without the complexity of more advanced classes.
Primary Stat — STR and DEX
STR is your primary damage stat — every point increases physical attack scaling. DEX is secondary, improving attack speed, critical hit rate and dodge. The recommended split is 70 STR to 30 DEX at early levels, adjusting toward more DEX as your STR scales higher through gear and Reborn bonuses. VIT investment is minimal — Mercenary already has high natural HP through class passives.
Core Skills
Best Pets
White Dragon or Death Tyrant for physical attack support. Both pets deal strong melee damage at Stage 5+ and complement Mercenary well in AoE farming scenarios.
Unicorn for HP recovery between pulls, Koala for drop rate farming. At higher Reborn ranks replace Unicorn with a Wolf variant for attack speed bonus.
Key Tips
Wild Stream is your identity. Build your entire setup around maximising Wild Stream damage — weapon enhancement, awakening stats and STR investment all feed into this one skill being as powerful as possible.
Immortality is a cooldown, not a panic button. Use it proactively when you see a dangerous situation developing rather than reactively when you are already at 10% HP.
In parties let the Templar engage first. Wait 2–3 seconds after your Templar attacks before using Wild Stream on a pack. Jumping in too early pulls threat and puts you in danger unnecessarily.
