⚡ Quick Answer — Soul Taming Card Colors
Rappelz soul taming cards are colour-coded by rarity. From lowest to highest:
In-game inventory on Rappelz Tournament — gold borders mark Unique-tier creature cards; star icons show the card’s rank.
Normal (brown & grey) → Basic (green) → Rare (blue) → Special (purple) → Unique (gold) → Epic (red). The colour of the card border tells you its tier instantly — and higher tiers mean stronger pets but lower taming success.🎨 Soul Taming Card Colors Explained
Each soul taming card has a coloured border that signals its rarity tier. The higher the rarity, the better the base stats of the pet you tame — but the harder it is to tame successfully. Here is what each colour means:
📋 Soul Taming Card Rarity Table
| Tier | Rarity | Card Colour | Taming Success |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Normal | Brown | Highest |
| 2 | Normal | Grey | Very High |
| 3 | Basic | Green | High |
| 4 | Rare | Blue | Moderate |
| 5 | Special | Purple | Low |
| 6 | Unique | Gold | Very Low |
| 7 | Epic | Red | Rarest |
Card border colour is the fastest way to read a soul taming card’s rarity at a glance. Higher tiers tame less reliably but produce stronger pets.
📊 Rarity at a Glance
From most common and easiest to tame, to rarest and strongest:
🎯 Soul Taming Success Rates by Rarity
Higher rarity means a stronger pet but a lower chance to tame. These are the approximate success bands on Rappelz Tournament — always carry a T-Protect Mirror before taming Special-rarity or higher, so a failed attempt doesn’t destroy your card.
⚠️ T-Protect Mirror: Keep one in your inventory before taming any Special+ card. Rates above are boosted over retail Epic 9.6 — Rappelz Tournament tames more reliably than official servers.
🧪 Soul Catalysts — Boost Your Success Rate
A Soul Catalyst is added to a taming attempt to raise the success chance. There are two grades, plus the option of none:
🐾 Best Pets to Tame by Progression Stage
- Wind Pixie — Laksy Fairy’s Woods · healing/support
- Forest Pixie — Laksy Field · versatile support
- Green Dragon — starter maps · solid early DPS
- Crystal Spider — Underground Dungeon · balanced DPS
- Hector — Remains of the Ancients · physical DPS belt pet
- Crystal Golem — Remains of the Ancients · best tank pet
- Death Gladiator — Horizon Arena / Abyss 2 · best physical DPS
- Liquidlust Dragon — Dragon Nest · best magic DPS
- Behemoth — endgame maps · max-HP tank
⚔️ Boss Taming — Crystal Golem & Slaughter
Boss pets are the hardest tames (~1–3%) but among the strongest pets in the game. The two most sought-after both spawn at Remains of the Ancients:
- Crystal Golem — balanced damage and healing with greatly increased P.Def. The go-to tanky boss pet.
- Slaughter — strong melee pet with high physical attack, great for solo grinding.
- Hector — also at Remains of the Ancients; a strong physical DPS belt pet.
Bring an Advanced Soul Catalyst and a T-Protect Mirror, use the Priest Teleporter in Horizon or Laksy to reach Remains of the Ancients, and expect to fail several times before a successful boss tame.
❓ Soul Taming Card FAQ
What colour is a Basic soul taming card?
Green. Basic is Tier 3 — above the two Normal tiers (brown and grey) and below Rare (blue). Green cards have the highest taming success rate of the commonly used tiers.
What do the soul card colours mean in order?
Lowest to highest: Normal (brown), Normal (grey), Basic (green), Rare (blue), Special (purple), Unique (gold), Epic (red). The colour is the rarity tier.
Which soul taming card is the rarest?
The Epic red card. It has the strongest base stats and the lowest taming success rate, so it’s best saved for your main summon and key belt pets.
Do higher-rarity cards tame less often?
Yes — success rate falls as rarity rises. Green Basic cards are the most reliable; gold Unique and red Epic cards have the lowest success but the strongest pets.
