Rappelz Magus Guide 2026 — Passives, Skills & Healing
Complete Magus guide covering key passives and how they interact, AoE and single-target damage skills, healing toolkit, party buffs and PvP-specific passive for Rappelz Tournament Epic 9.6.

Class Overview
Magus is Gaia’s hybrid magic class — strong AoE farming damage, a complete healing toolkit and party-wide buffs in one package. The passive system is unusually deep: Flamemonger converts INT to M.Atk, Cyclone Lord’s Blessing makes Max MP an indirect damage stat, and Mental Link transfers pet stats to the player. Understanding how these passives interact before choosing gear and pets makes a significant difference in effective output.
Important Passive Skills
Magus passives interact in ways that aren’t obvious from the tooltips. Read these carefully before deciding on stats, pets and gear — they define the entire damage model.
Increases M.Atk by 150% of your INT. Primary damage passive — every point of INT you invest returns 1.5x its value in M.Atk. This is why INT is the primary stat for Magus.
Two effects that interact in an unusual way:
Practical implication: Max MP investments (INT, WIS gear lines, MP stones) contribute to damage through this passive chain. Don’t ignore MP pool items.
Increases your WIS and INT by 10% of your summoned creature’s WIS and INT. Your pet’s stats feed back into your own. This means high-INT/WIS pets directly amplify your own Flamemonger and Cyclone Lord’s Blessing interactions — pet quality matters more for Magus than most classes.
Increases WIS and INT by 5% at max skill level. Flat percentage increase on both primary stats — max this early.
Specifically increases damage of the Tectonic Spike skill. Invest in both the Earth and Fire variants of this passive to maximize Tectonic Spike’s DoT output on priority targets.
At max skill level: 100% resistance against Sealing. Sealing prevents skill usage for up to 30 seconds — War Kahuna’s Dark Water Seal is the most common source on this server. If you PvP regularly, this passive makes you immune to one of the most punishing CC effects in Crystal Altar.
Active Skills — Damage
The most important farming skill. Strong AoE damage — use to clear grouped mobs efficiently. Build your farming rotation around this skill’s cooldown.
AoE effect with damage over time. Pair with Eternal Pillar of Fire — apply Root of Mother Nature first to layer the DoT, then cast Eternal Pillar of Fire for burst AoE on top.
Single target damage over time. Amplified by both the Tectonic Spike passive (Earth and Fire). Use on bosses and priority targets where AoE would be wasteful.
Secondary single-target DoT. Stack alongside Tectonic Spike on bosses for layered sustained damage.
Spammable single-target damage — fills GCDs between AoE and DoT cooldowns. Always casting keeps the damage flowing.
Self-buff that applies a poison effect to both basic attacks AND skills. Keep active at all times — passive poison proc on every hit adds meaningful sustained damage at zero GCD cost after the initial cast.
Single-target DoT combined with a stun effect. Strong in PvP for locking down targets during your damage rotation. In PvE, use on dangerous mobs to prevent movement while DoT ticks.
Healing Skills
Party Buffs
Increases all stats of target and nearby players. Best overall buff — apply to the whole party before every pull and boss fight.
Increases P.Def of target and nearby players. Apply before heavy physical hit phases and dungeon pulls.
Increases P.Atk of target and nearby players. Beneficial for physical DPS party members.
Increases Movement Speed of target and nearby players. Essential quality-of-life for any farming group.
Key Tips
Max MP is a damage stat for Magus. Cyclone Lord’s Blessing converts 15% of Max MP to both P.Atk and M.Atk — and then 100% of that P.Atk feeds M.Atk again. Don’t ignore INT/WIS gear lines that also increase Max MP; they contribute more to damage than their tooltip suggests.
Pick your summon for Mental Link carefully. Mental Link adds 10% of your pet’s WIS and INT to your own stats — a high-INT/WIS pet like Ethereal Pixie or Ifrit directly amplifies your Flamemonger and Cyclone Lord’s Blessing outputs. Pet quality has a unique direct return for Magus that other classes don’t have.
Keep Enchant Weapon: Earth active at all times. The poison proc on every hit and skill cast is free sustained damage with no rotation cost after the initial buff cast. Rebuff it whenever it falls off — there’s no reason to ever play without it.
Healing Gust is your most efficient party heal. It heals multiple party members AND applies Restoring Purified Water HoT in a single cast. Prioritize this over Angelic Mist in multi-person damage situations — save Angelic Mist for tank emergencies where the tank alone needs rapid successive heals.
In PvP, invest Earthly Presence passive if you run Crystal Altar regularly. Sealing immunity means War Kahuna’s Dark Water Seal — one of the strongest PvP CC abilities on the server — does nothing against you. At max passive level it’s 100% resistance, not a chance. A fully invested Earthly Presence makes Magus one of the most Seal-resistant classes in the game.
