Full Rappelz Epic Timeline › Epic 9.2 — Parallel Worlds
Released 28 July 2015 — significantly later than originally planned — Rappelz Epic 9.2: Parallel Worlds brought a new dungeon, a long-overdue group finder system, guild and group benefits, new level 160 gear and a revamped awakening system. It was also the fastest transition between Korean and European servers of any Epic in the 9.x series.
The Delayed Epic That Delivered
Epic 9.2 was announced alongside Epic 9.1 in March 2014 — originally expected on the KTS by the end of 2014. It did not arrive until mid-2015, with no official explanation from Gala for the delay. The community waited, and the frustration was real.
What arrived made the wait worthwhile for most players. The Parallel Worlds dungeon, the group finder system, guild and group benefits — these were meaningful additions to the social and endgame infrastructure of Rappelz that players had been requesting for years. And in one noteworthy distinction, Epic 9.2 had the shortest gap between its Korean server release and its European release of any Epic in the 9.x series.
The Parallel Worlds Dungeon
The Parallel Worlds dungeon was the centrepiece of Epic 9.2 — a dimensional rift concept that gave the update its name. Its first boss, described as a massive angel, set the tone for a dungeon with visual ambition and demanding combat. The NPC portal to access the dungeon was conveniently placed in each city, making it accessible without lengthy travel.
The dungeon also introduced unique human enemies as a new monster category — expanding the range of hostile NPCs beyond the creatures and monsters that had populated most of Rappelz’s previous content.
The Group Finder System
Epic 9.2 introduced a dedicated group finder system — allowing players to register their group for others to find and join. Visible in a side window, the system streamlined the previously informal process of assembling dungeon parties through chat channels and personal contacts. For solo players looking to group up for the Parallel Worlds dungeon or other content, it was a meaningful quality-of-life addition.
Guild and Group Benefits
The arrival of guild and group benefits in Epic 9.2 added a social reward layer to organised play. Guilds and parties could now provide their members with shared buff effects — incentivising membership in active organisations and rewarding players who chose to engage with the game’s social systems rather than playing solo. This system would be expanded significantly in later Epics.

Why Epic 9.2 Still Matters
Guild and group benefits reshaped how Rappelz communities organised themselves — making membership in an active guild a tangibly rewarding experience rather than just a social preference. The group finder democratised party formation and made dungeons more accessible to players without established networks.
Despite its delayed arrival, Epic 9.2 delivered improvements to the game’s social infrastructure that were long overdue — and that private server communities continue to benefit from today.
