Full Rappelz Epic Timeline › Epic 7.3 — The Trial
Released 21 November 2011, Rappelz Epic 7.3: The Trial is widely considered the most important update in Rappelz history after Epic 2. The master classes — promised since the end of Epic 6 — finally arrived, and with them came a complete transformation of high-level play, two new dungeons, the legendary Cube creature and sweeping class rebalancing.
The Most Important Update Since Epic 2
When Gala announced at the end of the Epic 6 era that master classes were coming, the Rappelz community had been waiting patiently through Epic 7.1 and Epic 7.2 for the headline feature. Epic 7.3 delivered on that promise in full.
The master classes transformed every existing class in the game — giving players a final evolution tier that came with new skills, new identities and entirely new ways to build and play. High-level Rappelz before and after Epic 7.3 are genuinely different games.
The 15 Master Classes
Every race received five master classes in Epic 7.3 — fifteen in total across Deva, Asura and Gaia. Each master class was the final evolution of a base class path, adding powerful new skills and redefining how each role functioned at endgame.
Templar · Mercenary · Cardinal · Oracle · Master Breeder
Void Mage · Corruptor · Deadeye · Slayer · Berserker
Magus · War Kahuna · Marksman · Beast Master · Overlord
Two New Dungeons
A new group dungeon designed specifically for master class players — requiring the new class abilities to progress effectively and offering rewards scaled to the new endgame tier.
A solo instanced dungeon that scaled to the player’s level — one of Rappelz’s first truly adaptive solo experiences, offering a personal challenge regardless of how geared the player was.
The Cube — A Legendary Healing Creature
Epic 7.3 introduced the Cube — a legendary creature with a unique identity: a healer. The Cube’s ability to restore HP set it apart from every other pet in the game and made it immediately sought after by players who wanted a companion focused on keeping them alive rather than dealing damage. It became one of the most iconic and distinctive creatures in Rappelz history.
Moon Fragments and Gaia’s Grace
A major systemic change in Epic 7.3 was the removal of force and spirit fragments, replaced by the new moon fragment system. This simplification streamlined a mechanic that had accumulated complexity over several Epics and made the upgrade path cleaner and more accessible.
Gaia’s Grace was also added — a new beneficial mechanic that gave players a meaningful advantage during specific conditions, adding another layer of strategic consideration to high-level play.

Why Epic 7.3 Still Matters
Every player on every Rappelz private server today is playing a master class. The Templar, Berserker, Beast Master, Void Mage — all fifteen of them were born here, in November 2011. That is the measure of Epic 7.3’s importance.
The Cube remains one of the most unique pets in any MMORPG — a healer companion in a game where almost everything else deals damage. The moon fragment system simplified an overcomplicated mechanic and made upgrading feel rewarding again. And the Burning Caves introduced a solo scaling dungeon concept that would influence dungeon design in every subsequent Epic. This update changed everything.
