📌 HOW TO DECOMPOSE ITEMS – STEP BY STEP

  1. Find the Alchemist or Blacksmith NPC – In Rondo, look for NPC “Alchemist” or “Decomposition Expert” (sometimes the same as the Blacksmith). On Epic 9.x servers, the Alchemist is located near the potion vendor in the south of Rondo.
  2. Select “Decompose Items” from the menu.
  3. Drag the item from your inventory into the decomposition slot.
  4. Confirm decomposition – the item is destroyed, and materials are added to your inventory.
  5. Repeat for all unwanted items. You can decompose multiple items in one session.

💡 Tip: Use the “Decompose All” option if available (some servers have it). Be careful – it decomposes all decomposable items in your inventory. Lock any valuable items by right‑clicking them and selecting “Lock”.

🔨 MATERIALS OBTAINED – WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR

MaterialPrimary UseAlternative Use
Enhance Stone Fragment Combine 10 fragments = 1 Enhance Stone Used in equipment enhancement.
Defence Cube Fragment Combine fragments into Cubes Used for upgrading certain dungeon armour sets.
Accessory Fragment Combine 20 fragments = 1 random accessory Can also be used in accessory crafting recipes.
Skill Card Mixture Used as fodder when upgrading Skill Cards Increases success chance.
Potion Reagent Craft higher‑level potions at Alchemist Sell on Auction House (some demand).
Crafting Shard (rare) Craft epic equipment Required for certain end‑game crafted items (e.g., Lava Wings).

⚖️ DECOMPOSE vs. SELL – DECISION GUIDE

  • Decompose if: The item is common (white/green), you need enhancement materials, or you have no Auction House access (e.g., bound items).
  • Sell to NPC if: The item is white/green but the decomposition yield is very low (e.g., level 1 gear).
  • Sell on Auction House if: The item is rare (blue/purple) with good stats, or it is a coveted costume/cosmetic.
  • Decompose Skill Cards you don’t need: Always – Skill Card Mixtures are always useful for upgrading your main cards.
  • Decompose low‑level potions: Once you have access to better potions, decompose the lower ones for reagents.

⚠️ Some items are “bind on equip” and cannot be traded. For these, decomposition is often the only way to extract value from unwanted gear.

📜 HISTORICAL NOTE – DECOMPOSITION OVER THE EPICS

The Decomposition system was greatly expanded in Epic 9.5 (Trials of Devildom). Before that, only a few item types could be decomposed. In Epic 9.6 and later, nearly all equipment and Skill Cards became decomposable, making it a vital system for resource management.

In Epic 9.10 (King of Alcatraz), the system is fully integrated – you can even decompose unwanted Awakening Stones and Artifact fragments.

💡 Always check the decomposition preview before confirming. The tooltip shows what materials you will receive – if it’s 1 Rupee, better to sell the item directly.
